Best Asian Restaurants in Perth: Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and More
Perth has one of Australia's strongest Asian dining scenes, shaped by a large Chinese-Australian community, significant Southeast Asian immigration and a geographic proximity to Asia that influences both population and food culture. Northbridge Chinatown, centred on James and Roe Streets, is the traditional hub, with yum cha restaurants, Cantonese BBQ shops, hotpot and bubble tea operations that draw the city every weekend for breakfast through to late dining. The Perth CBD and Northbridge have excellent Japanese dining including ramen, izakaya, and high-end omakase. Vietnamese is particularly strong in the northern suburbs, with the Mirrabooka area having restaurant and cafe options that serve the established Vietnamese community. Highgate, East Perth and Mount Lawley have Asian dining options popular with the younger professional demographic. Subiaco's Asian dining options cater to the affluent western suburbs. For authentic Southeast Asian street food, the Northbridge Night Markets and various community food events are the most reliable options.
