Live traffic and incidents
The fastest source for current congestion and crashes across Perth is the Main Roads WA Travel Map. It plots incidents, planned roadworks and camera locations in real time.
Congestion hotspots
- Mitchell Freeway. Northbound congestion typically builds from Hutton St to Hepburn Ave between 7am and 9am.
- Kwinana Freeway. Southbound delays through the Narrows and South St on weekday afternoons from 3:30pm.
- Graham Farmer Freeway. Tunnel queues both directions during peak; incident-related closures are frequent.
- Tonkin Highway. Ongoing upgrade works between Collier Rd and Dunreath Dr cause overnight lane closures.
- Stirling Highway. Roadworks between Nedlands and Claremont, with single-lane sections after 9pm.
- Great Eastern Highway. Heavy freight in both directions through Belmont and Midland during morning peak.
Public transport
Check Transperth for train, bus and ferry alerts. METRONET project works regularly close stations and lines on weekends, listed by the Public Transport Authority.
