Sponsored Content Policy

Last updated: 27/06/2026

Our commitment

The Daily Perth is committed to clear, honest advertising disclosure. We follow the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) guidance on misleading conduct and the Australian Consumer Law, which prohibit content that could deceive readers about its commercial nature.

What counts as sponsored content

Any article, newsletter section, social post, video, audio segment, or directory listing that is paid for, materially influenced, or supplied by a third party in exchange for consideration (money, products, services, or trips) is sponsored content.

How we label it

Editorial independence

Sponsors do not get pre‑publication review of editorial articles. Our newsroom decides what we cover and how. Where a sponsor supplies copy, we may sub‑edit for clarity and legal safety but we do not present sponsor copy as independent reporting.

Affiliate links and gifts

Where we earn a commission from a link, we disclose it inline. Where a product, ticket, meal, or trip was provided free of charge for review, we say so at the top of the piece.

What we will not accept

Complaints

If you believe a piece of content on The Daily Perth is sponsored and not clearly labelled, please contact us via the Contact page. We aim to respond within two business days and correct labelling promptly.
